Far Mountain Winery, founded by Mai Errazuriz and Rodrigo Soto, is driven by the belief that some of the greatest potential for wine, both in California and globally, lies in the remote, mountainous regions of the Sonoma Valley. They partner with growers who've taken considerable risks in establishing vineyards in these challenging, high-elevation areas, sometimes as high as 550 meters above sea level. The winery's name, "Far Mountain," reflects both their journey to realize this vision and the nature of the sites they cultivate – sites distinguished by their isolated splendor. Through minimal intervention winemaking and gentle techniques like whole cluster pressing and restrained oak aging, they aim to create wines like their Fission Cabernet Sauvignon and Myrna Chardonnay that capture the dramatic energy of these unique vineyards, revealing intricate layers of flavor, texture, and minerality.
