Domaine A, located in Tasmania's Coal River Valley, is an iconic Australian wine estate renowned for its exceptional, mature, Bordeaux-style wines, particularly its Cabernet Sauvignon. Established in 1973 by H. Peter Althaus, the winery is built on a philosophy of patience and meticulous winemaking, delaying wine releases until they are ready. Many in the trade refer to Domaine A as “Tasmania's First Growth”. In 2018, the Althauses sold the winery to David Walsh, owner of Moorilla, who continues to uphold and further the legacy of quality winemaking at this celebrated Tasmanian site.
