About CHENE BLEU

Chêne Bleu is situated on the Domaine de La Verrière, a meticulously restored medieval priory located near the village of Crestet in the Vaucluse region of Provence, France. The vineyard sits high in the Dentelles de Montmirail mountains, at an elevation between 550-630 meters (1,600 feet), making it one of the highest vineyards in the area. This altitude contributes to cool nights and a later harvest, imparting a desirable freshness to the grapes, complementing the richness typical of Southern Rhône wines. The estate is part of the Mont Ventoux UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, reflecting its deep commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture and a holistic approach to environmental sustainability.

Chêne Bleu produces a range of exceptional, handcrafted wines. Their flagship red wines, Abélard and Héloïse, are named after the famous medieval lovers, with Abélard being a Grenache-driven blend and Héloïse a Syrah-focused blend. The winery also produces distinct white wines like Aliot and a single varietal Viognier, as well as a popular rosé.
