Tryon Holds Third Blood Drive of the Year

Earlier this week, Tryon Distributing partnered with OneBlood to host its third blood drive of 2026. The company transformed its Charlotte distribution center’s conference room into a sterile donation facility, and throughout the afternoon, many Tryon employees stopped by to give their time and blood in support of local patients.

“I am proud to host local blood drives because the impact is immediate and personal,” said Angie Packer, Tryon Executive Vice President and event organizer. “With OneBlood, all of the blood collected goes straight to local hospitals and clinics to help people in our community who need it most.”

OneBlood is a nonprofit blood center, like the Red Cross, with affiliations across the health care industry. It serves much of North Carolina, and every donation collected at the Tryon event will be used in and around the Charlotte area.

“Each pint of whole blood donated can help up to three people, and each plasma donation can help six to nine,” Packer added. “There is no better feeling than knowing a few minutes of your time can make a huge difference in someone else’s life.”

Tryon has hosted multiple blood drives each year for many years. Community engagement is one of the company’s core values, and few activities reflect it better than helping to save lives in the immediate community.
