Job Description

Position will be located in South Charlotte at our corporate office and will report to the President of the company. You will be responsible for associates in two distribution centers and as well as several other small locations throughout the state.

 

 

Responsibilities

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting for exempt and non-exempt candidates, creating and placing ads for existing and newly created positions, conducting the hiring process (background checks, coordinating drug testing, etc.). Handling the onboarding process, including new hire paperwork completion, benefit and safety orientation, etc.
  • Responsible for the flow of information through the HRIS (such as PTO requests, performance review uploads to the appropriate supervisor). Maintaining carrier connections regarding benefit providers.
  • Responsible for the administration and coordination of a variety of benefits including 401(k), medical, dental, HRA, Life, LTD, STD, voluntary benefits, retirement plan, etc. Will be responsible for benefit renewals and the annual open enrollment process.
  • Provides monthly performance review notices and service award notices.
  • Responds to employee questions via phone, e-mail and in person.
  • Investigation and resolution of employee complaints.
  • Handle all issues relating to FMLA, company paid leave, workers compensation, unemployment administration, etc.
  • Responsible for completion of various annual reports and surveys (EEO-1, OSHA 300A Form, Wage Surveys, etc.).
  • Processes monthly billings from insurance providers. Review bills for accuracy, code and advance for payment.
  • Provide and communicate training on a variety of HR related topics.
  • Responsible for communicating with governmental agencies and legal entities (unemployment, EEOC, etc.) to resolve employment issues.
  • Maintain official employee roster and employee files
  • Provide wage and salary information for current and new positions

 

 

Qualifications

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of HR senior level management experience preferably in a distribution environment
  • Experience in employee relations, policy and procedure administration, recruiting and staffing, HRIS and timekeeping systems
  • Proven track record with increasing levels of responsibility in the HR field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proven ability to deal with “gray”
  • Strong personality complemented by good business acumen

It'd be great if you also have:

· Payroll/ADP software experience

· Ability to provide management with proactive ideas on creating and maintaining a positive employee relations climate

· Demonstrated success resolving employee issues in an “open door” environment

· Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities

· Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels in the organization
